Description of Aavaram poo Plant

🌾 Senna auriculata is a shrub or small tree with many branches, bright yellow flowers, and flat brown pods. It’s also known as Tanner’s cassia or Avaram senna.

🌾 The flowers are bright yellow, large, and have an irregular shape.

🌾 Bright yellow flowers appear in racemes at the end of branches. It has a smooth reddish-brown bark.

Morphological characteristics of Aavaram poo (Senna auriculata)

🌾 Tanner’s Cassia is a branched shrub, growing up to 1-1.5 m high.

🌾 It features dull green, alternate leaves that are paripinnate, consisting of 16 to 24 pairs of leaflets.

🌾 It has many ascending branches and 8-10 cm long pinnate leaves. There are 8-12 pairs of leaflets, each 2-3 cm long.

🌾 The flowers are 4-5 cm across. It has a smooth reddish-brown bark.

🌾 The plant produces flattened brown pods that measure 7 and 12 cm long, containing 10 to 20 seeds.

🌾 The upper three stamens are reduced to staminodes. Fruit is a 7-12 cm long, flat brown pod.

🌾 The pods are thin, brown, and have a lenticellate texture.

🌾 Sennaauriculata is native to India and Srilanka and is widely cultivated in the dry and warm climates of Maharashtra, Madya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. It is also found in Burma and Ceylon.
